Ontario is building another large nuclear power facility in Kincardine. The Ford government announced on Thursday a cost-sharing agreement between Bruce Power and the Independent Electricity System Operator worth up to $300 million to launch early development work for the project at the Bruce Power site.

The province's Independent Electricity System Operator projects as much as 92 per cent more electricity will be needed by 2050 to feed Ontario’s energy-hungry economy. The province could — and should — direct the IESO to hold more competitive procurements and add more wind and solar to the grid.
