Austrian police arrested a 39-year-old man suspected of poisoning baby food jars with rat poison in an extortion scheme. Five tampered HiPP brand jars were recovered across Austria, Czech Republic, and Slovakia before consumption, with one jar containing 15 micrograms of rat poison.
Romanian Police extradited Alexandru Bălan, a former high-ranking Moldovan intelligence officer, to Moldova on April 24 following a court decision. Bălan was investigated for attempted treason involving the transmission of state secrets to Belarusian intelligence services during meetings in Budapest between 2024-2025, with initial collaboration involving Russian intelligence.
