A former abbot of a Chinese temple known as the birthplace of ‌kung fu has been sentenced to 24 years in prison for crimes including embezzlement and bribery.

The abbot was taken into regime custody last week for refusing to allow the Shanni Nationalities Army to station troops at his monastery
