Romania's natural gas company Romgaz announced an agreement in principle to acquire fertilizer producer Azomureș from Swiss owner Ameropa. The takeover is expected to complete within 3–4 months and will integrate a major industrial gas consumer into Romgaz's operations, timed to coincide with the company's anticipated production from the Neptun Deep offshore field operated with OMV Petrom. Acting Energy Minister Ilie Bolojan described the move as essential for restarting Romania's chemical fertilizer industry and maximizing utilization of Black Sea gas resources.
