A missile struck an apartment building in the Lukianivka district of Kyiv on 24 May. Diana and Serhii lived on the eighth floor of the damaged building. The couple managed to escape, but their rented flat was completely destroyed and most of their belongings were lost.

During her visit to Kyiv, Marta Kos, the European Commissioner for Enlargement, together with Deputy Prime Minister for the Restoration of Ukraine and Minister for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine Oleksii Kuleba, visited the Lukianivka district of Kyiv, one of the areas hardest hit by Russia's large-scale attacks.

A cat has been rescued near the Lukianivka district in the city of Kyiv after spending three days trapped under rubble following a Russian large-scale attack on the night of 23-24 May. The injured animal has been handed over to veterinarians.
