Another debate has heated up over changing the election of board members to U-M, MSU and Wayne State to governor-appointed. But experts say that is not what matters most.

MSU President Guskiewicz is set to become the next president of Clemson University in South Carolina even after board voted to increase his annual salary to $2 million.

Kevin Guskiewicz said board members had ‘differing perspectives’ on how MSU should move ahead. Gov. Gretchen Whitmer called his departure disappointing but not surprising.
