It is with great sorrow that the death of Guillermo León Zapata Montoya was learned, the sports leader and social communicator regarded by many as one of the masters of journalism in Antioquia. Always restless about sports and communication, he was part of Weimar Lo Dice for more than 25 years as its editor-in-chief; furthermore, in the region he is remembered for being the creator of the Master's program in Communications at Jaime Isaza Cadavid; he also created the Maltica Cup, Medellín on Skates, was part of the board of directors of Acord Antioquia and worked as head of communications for the Antioquia Swimming League and the Colombian Federation of this sport. In another of his roles, he is remembered for being the founder of the Boca Juniors club in Bello, from which players such as Carlos Cuesta emerged, among others.
