Cybersecurity researchers at Hunt.io have uncovered a new Mirai-derived botnet called xlabs_v1 that exploits exposed Android Debug Bridge (ADB) ports to compromise devices and enlist them in distributed denial-of-service attacks. The discovery was made after identifying an exposed directory on a Netherlands-hosted server.
