Italy's Corte Suprema di Cassazione ruled this week that Italian citizenship iure sanguinis , transmitted by descent, is permanent and imprescriptible. In the decision, the Court recognized that the impossibility of accessing the administrative mechanisms may generate sufficient legal uncertainty to legitimize actions before the Judiciary, even without a formal refusal by the Italian State.
