From Monday, July 22, the city of Kalemie will suffer a power outage that will last 10 days, due to necessary repair work at the Bendera power plant on a faulty turbine. The National Electricity Company (SNEL) detailed the measures taken to guarantee the supply of essential points of the city during this period. At a press conference held on Friday, July 19 in Kalemie, Marcel Kahite, head of the production and transport in Bendera, revealed that SNEL has two generators in the city to ensure the continuity of power supply to hospitals, morgues, the governorate and the Regideso in case of interruption of electricity. Unfortunately, Marcel Kahite has informed that these generators are currently out of service, calling on SNEL's partners to take preventive measures.
