# Translation The Office of the Comptroller General of the Republic warned about the risks the country could face in the event of the arrival of the El Niño phenomenon and asked the National Government and territorial authorities to adopt urgent measures to guarantee the supply of drinking water and electrical energy. The call from the control entity came after alerts issued by the Ideam, the Ministry of Environment and the National Unit for Disaster Risk Management (UNGRD), entities that raised to 82% the probability of establishment of the climate phenomenon during the May-June-July 2026 quarter. Previously, the probability was at 62%.
